The following are the proposed construction timeframes for the Loop 303 north of Interstate 10 identified in the Regional Transportation Plan. More detailed construction schedules will be made available as construction bids are awarded.
December 2009 – Construction began in early 2009 on the new section of Loop 303 between Happy Valley Parkway and Interstate 17, and is progressing on schedule. Several major milestones were completed by the end of 2009, including the opening of the new interchange at Happy Valley Parkway and the completion of the new Loop 303 underpass bridges at Lake Pleasant Parkway. Because most of the Loop 303 route travels through undeveloped, state-owned land, much of the construction progress is not visible to drivers. We invite you to take a virtual, aerial tour above the future Loop 303 route during the first year of construction. The tour follows the route from south to north, beginning at Happy Valley Parkway. When complete in early 2012, the new interim, four-lane section of Loop 303 will include interchanges at Happy Valley, Jomax, Lone Mountain and Lake Pleasant parkways, as well as a connection to I-17 at Lone Mountain Road in north Phoenix, two miles south of Carefree Highway.
