Study
Purpose and Need
Maricopa County is one of the fastest-growing areas in the United States. Population is increasing at unprecedented rates. This study identifies improvements to help the transportation system keep pace with this rapid growth and meet the areas future transportation needs.
This study is intended to identify and evaluate alternative routes from the proposed Loop 303 freeway extension south of Interstate 10. This will help identify an adequate connection between the proposed State Route 801, State Route 85, and Interstate 10.
Study
Area
The project limits are from Estrella Parkway west to Jackrabbit Trail, Lower Buckeye Road south along to the northern boundaries of the Gila River.
Environmental
An Environmental Assessment (EA) is necessary to ensure the project addresses federal environmental laws. This assessment will provide a description of the study area, determine if the study will affect environmental resources in the study area, and document the study process and activities. Additionally, the study will keep the public informed of the study progress and provide information for decision makers during the study process.
The corridor study area includes the region within the red boundary below. The boundary does not represent a specific alignment or transportation loop, but is the general area under study.
