As
a part of the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), the Arizona
Department of Transportation (ADOT) is constructing one
new High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction
on State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) between Shea Blvd.
up and on to the Loop 101 to Tatum Blvd. Additionally,
as a part of this construction project, ADOT will add new
HOV ramp connections to the SR 51 and Loop 101 Interchange
identified in the RTP. More . . .
Throughout
project construction, traffic restrictions and closures will
be communicated to stakeholders through regular email notifications,
flyer distribution, and media releases to ensure that construction
updates and project milestones are appropriately and effectively

Public Safety during construction is a priority. ADOT and its contractors have initiated a unique conveyor system to supply concrete during construction of the HOV lane project. View the video.

The timeline represents the required steps
