Closures and Restrictions
ADOT is committed to keeping the public informed of upcoming closures with as much notice as possible.

Construction to widen US 60 (Grand Avenue) will require lane restrictions on Grand Avenue this weekend and next week for work on the widening project.

Please see below for more details about restrictions and detour routes.

Construction crews have now established the work zone in the median of Grand Avenue between Bell Road and Loop 303 for the widening project. For the safety of drivers and workers, left turns are now allowed only at signalized intersections along this stretch of Grand Avenue. This restriction will be in place for approximately six months while construction is occurring in the median.

The speed limit on Grand Avenue has been reduced to 35 miles per hour during construction. For everyone’s safety, please drive safely, follow all posted construction speed limits and signs. Please see our Work Zone Safety Fact Sheet for more information about driving safely in construction zones.

CURRENT RESTRICTIONS

Grand Avenue between Loop 303 and Greenway Road
Thursday, Mar. 11 - Friday, Mar. 12
8 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Eastbound Grand Avenue will be restricted to one lane overnight from Thursday night until Friday morning between Loop 303 and Greenway Road for work on the Grand Avenue widening project to accommodate a median truck haul.

Grand Ave between 113th and 99th avenues
Thursday, Mar. 11 - Friday, Mar. 12
8 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Grand Avenue will be restricted to one lane in both directions overnight from Thursday night until Friday morning between 113th and 99th avenues for work on the Grand Avenue widening project.

Grand Avenue at Mountain View Boulevard
Sunday, Mar. 14 - Monday, Mar. 15
8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Westbound Grand Avenue at Mountain View Boulevard will be restricted to one lane overnight from Sunday night until Monday morning for work on the Grand Avenue widening project.

Grand Avenue between 99th and 113th avenues
Sunday, Mar. 14 - Friday, Mar. 19
8 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Grand Avenue will be restricted to one lane in both directions nightly from Sunday until Friday between 99th and 113th avenues for median removal work.

Grand Avenue between Bell Road and Loop 303
Sunday, Mar. 14 - Friday, Mar. 19
8 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Westbound Grand Avenue will be restricted to one lane nightly from Sunday until Friday between Bell Road and Loop 303 to accommodate a median truck haul.

ONGOING RESTRICTIONS AND CLOSURES

Cactus Road at 91st Avenue
Through April 22
Left turns from westbound Cactus Road to southbound 91st Avenue will be restricted to one turn lane through April 22 for interchange improvements.

91st Avenue at Grand Avenue
Through April 22
91st Avenue at Grand Avenue will be restricted to one lane in both directions through April 22 for interchange improvements. The left turn lanes will remain open.
 
Grand Avenue between 83rd and 99th avenues
Through Summer 2010
Grand Avenue will be restricted to one lane westbound and eastbound between 83rd and 99th avenues through summer 2010 for work on the Grand Avenue widening project. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph through the construction zone to maintain safety for motorists, pedestrians and workers during construction.

Loop 101 at Grand Avenue
Through Summer 2010
The northbound Loop 101 off-ramp to Grand Avenue will be restricted to one lane through summer 2010 for work on the Grand Avenue widening project.
 
When complete, the projects will add much-needed additional capacity to reduce congestion and improve travel times for motorists on Grand Avenue.
