Project Overview Closures & Restrictions

As a part of the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) constructed one new High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction on Loop 101 (Price Freeway) between Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) and Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway). A new concrete median barrier was constructed and rubberized asphalt was placed to reduce traffic noise along the eight miles of new HOV lanes.

New HOV lanes can be used by vehicles with two or more occupants, qualified hybrid vehicles, and motorcycles during peak travel times between from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are designed to aide in relieving traffic congestion, encourage carpools and public transportation, allow for express bus service, shorten travel time, and reduce the overall number of vehicles on the road. HOV lanes are open to all vehicles at other times.

Currently, there are no projects on Loop 101 (Price Freeway).

For questions or feedback call the Loop 101 (Price Freeway) hotline at 602.787.3927 or ADOT@hdrinc.com
