I-40 Pavement Preservation through Flagstaff
  Project No.: 40 CN 190 H7958 01C
  Location:

Project is located on eastbound and westbound lanes of I-40 between Riordan Railroad Overpass (MP 190) and Country Club TI (MP 201) through Flagstaff.

  Contractor: Markham Contracting Co., Inc.
  Programmed Cost: $3,750,000
  Scope:

Remove existing asphalt and replace with a layer of rubberized asphalt along I-40 as well as on- and off- ramps.

  Expected Project
Duration:
The project began on Monday, July 12 and is expected to be complete by late August 2010.
  Project Notes:
I-40 will be reduced to one lane in each direction allowing for a safe work zone for motorists and crews to safely work.  In addition, on- and off-ramps will be intermittently closed.  Please check back later for more specific information regarding interstate ramp closures.

I-40 Walnut Canyon Westbound

  Location:

Project is westbound only from MP 209.1 to MP 205.1. The Cosnino Interchange is located within this project.

  Contractor: C.S.&W. Contractors, Inc.
  Programmed Cost: $5,809,917.48
  Scope:

Reprofile the vertical curves. This involves taking out some of the small grades.

  Expected Project
Duration:
Project will run into the fall of 2009 at which time it will stop. It will be resumed and completed Spring 2010.

Lake Mary Road – Stoneman lake Road to Happy Jack Ranger Station
  Project No.:

  Location:

Lake Mary Road between Stoneman Lake Road and Happy Jack Ranger Station (mile post 307.5 to mile post 310).

  Contractor: Intermountain West Civil Constructors.
  Programmed Cost:

$ 606,955

  Scope: A local government (Coconino County) ARRA project.  Remove and replace asphalt.
  Expected Project
Duration:

The project began August 16 and is expected to be complete by late August 2010.

  Project Notes:
Construction will occur between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. week days, as well as weekends. The work should be completed by Sunday, August 29, weather permitting. The project will include asphalt paving with a new friction course overlay, which will provide better traction and reduce traffic noise.

McGuireville Rest Area, and the south bound lanes from the Yavapai County Line to the rest area.
  Contractor: Fisher Sand & Gravel Co. dba Southwest Asphalt Paving

  Scope:
Make waste water system improvements at the McGuireville rest area; mill and replace the existing asphalt and apply friction course from the county line to the rest area.

Project 1 is from MP 304.5 (1 mile south of Village of Oak Creek) to MP 310.4 (Back o’ Beyond) and Project 2 is from MP 310.4 to 313.4 (the “Y”) in the City of Sedona.

  Scope:
Projects consist of complete rebuild of highway to a multimodal, two lane parkway.
